Red Carpet Tour’s 50th Anniversary set for April 8-11, 2009
Approximately 45 guests from around the world will visit the state for the 50th Anniversary of the Red Carpet Tour scheduled for April 8-11, 2009. It kicks off in Atlanta at a reception at Atlanta’s newest boutique hotel, The Mansion on Peachtree, a Starwood Hotel. The guests will then attend dinner at the governor’s mansion, hosted by Gov. Perdue, followed the next morning by a short flight to Augusta aboard Red Carpet One, a Delta Air Lines chartered jet. While in Augusta, guests will attend the opening day of the Masters® Golf Tournament. The guests will return to Atlanta on Thursday night. On Friday morning, the Tour will include breakfast and “Georgia Business Report” mock live recording in the studio of Georgia Public Broadcasting. Through live interviews and video clips, the Red Carpet Tour guests will hear from John Rice with GE and Arthur Blank, with the Arthur Blank Foundation. Friday night the guests will enjoy a special evening in Atlanta.
Southwest Georgia Set to Host 2009 Georgia Quail Hunt
The Georgia Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the 21st Annual Georgia Quail Hunt in conjunction with the Georgia Allies, the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce and the Southwest Georgia Chamber Council February 4-6, 2009 in Albany.
Since its inception in 1915, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce has been committed to bringing new business to Georgia. Economic development initiatives are important for Georgia. New business brings new jobs for Georgians, more money to invest in the state and a variety of other opportunities for Georgians. It is a winning combination.
A Red Carpet Welcome Appropriate for April Visitors to Georgia
As the start of the 49th annual Red Carpet Tour nears, Georgia is putting on its best face for some very important visitors.
Of course, all visitors to our state are important, but the forty or so guests who will travel to the Peach State from all over the world in April are bringing with them the potential to become major investors in local communities, which means new jobs for Georgia citizens.

On Wednesday, April 2, 2008, the State of Georgia will dedicate its newest international economic development office in the Chinese capital city of Beijing. Gov. Sonny Perdue will lead a delegation to China to take part in the ceremonies and he has invited Georgia business leaders to accompany him on this historic 4-day mission. The Beijing office becomes the tenth international commerce office operated by the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) in strategic locations around the globe.

Red Carpet Tour® Guests Announce Plans to Grow in Georgia
The 2006 Red Carpet Tour® was April 5-8. Guests from throughout the United States and across the globe visited Augusta, Metro Atlanta and Valdosta during their visit to Georgia. During this 4-day period, guests are paired with a state host, and they have the opportunity to learn about the benefits of doing business in Georgia, while also visiting cities and towns around the state. Of course, guests have two days to attend the prestigious Masters® Golf Tournament held in Augusta.
Guests Visited Three Regions During 2006 Red Carpet Tour®
Participating Georgia communities rolled out the red carpet for 44 corporate decision makers from around the world April 5-8 on the 47th Annual Red Carpet Tour® of Georgia. This year, the Tour visited the Atlanta, Valdosta and Augusta regions.
Exemplifying Georgia’s strong public-private economic development partnerships, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, Georgia Department of Economic Development, Georgia Allies and the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce partner each year to host the Red Carpet Tour®, which allows business leaders to experience firsthand what differentiates Georgia from other states in both the Southeast and in the U.S. The Tour strives to strengthen relationships previously formed and build new relationships while showcasing Georgia as a great place to do business.
2005 Fall Feather Hunt a Success in Southwest Georgia
The 18th annual Fall Feather Hunt was held December 7-9, 2005, in Southwest Georgia, with 15 guests attending. The Fall Feather Hunt is a unique economic development opportunity that attracts business leaders to Georgia for world-class quail hunting and southern hospitality. Business leaders who may be interested in expanding or relocating to Georgia are invited to attend. Three announcements from companies attending the 2004 Fall Feather Hunt alone represent $142 million in new or expanded business investments and 650 new jobs for the state of Georgia.
Red Carpet Tour Highlights Benefits of Doing Business in Georgia
The 46th annual Red Carpet Tour, sponsored by the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, hosted thirty-seven business executives, representing companies in twenty states and three countries, April 6-9.
The 2005 Red Carpet Tour included stops in Metro Atlanta, the Northwest Georgia Region (Rome/Dalton) and Metro Augusta. Enthusiastic business executives, community leaders and volunteers from each region played a major role in the success of this year’s economic development marketing program. The Georgia Chamber and state hosts have already received evaluations, emails and thank you notes from guests praising the preparation and teamwork that went into creating the experience of a lifetime for them.
