Local Chambers Surveyed on Involvement in Education
The Georgia Chamber of Commerce is committed to assisting the State in building a highly qualified workforce.
Our efforts began by partnering with Governor Perdue’s Certified Work Ready program which provides businesses with a process to ensure they have qualified candidates. Georgia can be known as the state in which to operate if businesses seek the best employees! This will foster increased economic development statewide.
Education is Economics: GPEE Releases White Paper on the State’s Education and Workforce Development Initiatives
In August, the Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education released a white paper that examines the status of our state’s education and workforce development initiatives. Produced in response to an inquiry from the leadership of the Georgia Chamber, the new report provides a succinct look at the actions taken and the progress made in recent years to improve Georgia’s public education system and increase the supply of high school graduates who are well-prepared to enter college or the workforce.
Remarks by Sam Palmisano to the American Chamber of Commerce Executives on July 31,2008
Thank you, Roy [Williams]. I am honored to be with you today. I also want to personally thank Mick Fleming, Chris Mead and Mark Egan.
IBM has enjoyed a close relationship with ACCE for many years, and we are proud to be a gold sponsor of this conference. So when Mick asked if I would participate this year, I was eager to do so.
Your theme of innovation and your focus on winning economically are high priorities for IBM — and they are personal passions of mine. We have changed a lot over the past ten years, and we see a lot of change in the world. We know that to succeed in this new world, you have to keep improving your hand through change.
