Education is Economics: GPEE Releases White Paper on the State’s Education and Workforce Development Initiatives

In August, the Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education released a white paper that examines the status of our state’s education and workforce development initiatives. Produced in response to an inquiry from the leadership of the Georgia Chamber, the new report provides a succinct look at the actions taken and the progress made in recent years to improve Georgia’s public education system and increase the supply of high school graduates who are well-prepared to enter college or the workforce.

Citing clear, statewide data, the report shows that Georgia has made notable strides in strengthening each of four critical elements of our education system: quality early life experiences for all children; academic achievement for all students in grades K-12; a qualified and effective teacher workforce; and high school graduates who are college- and work-ready.

Georgia’s business leaders play a critical role in helping improve education by advocating for policies and programs that will strengthen our public schools. The Partnership’s new white paper provides valuable data and research that can inform conversations among education stakeholders and guide policy actions within the private sector.
